Early Childhood Program

Early Childhood Program

The Early Years (ages 3–6) mark the beginning of a child’s journey as an IB learner. At Dar Jana International Schools, our Early Years program is thoughtfully designed to nurture the natural curiosity, creativity, and joy of learning that young children bring into the classroom. We offer a full-day preschool program for children aged 3 and above, providing a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them.

Our approach emphasizes play-based and inquiry-driven learning, recognizing that young children learn best through hands-on experiences, meaningful interactions, and age-appropriate activities.

IB-PYP in the Early Years

Our youngest learners explore four Units of Inquiry each year. Two of these units are fixed across all PYP Early Years classrooms:

  • Who We Are: Children explore their identity, relationships, and feelings, helping them understand themselves and their connections to others.
  • How We Express Ourselves: Through art, movement, music, and storytelling, students discover and express their thoughts, emotions, and creativity.

Program Highlights:

  • Full Language Immersion in English, Arabic, and French, promoting multilingual communication and cultural appreciation from an early age.
  • A stimulating learning environment that fosters children’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development.
  • Daily opportunities to nurture creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills through play, storytelling, music, and art.
  • Introduction to foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and communication, integrated naturally through engaging, thematic learning experiences.
  • Development of essential social skills and positive peer relationships, encouraging cooperation, empathy, and a sense of belonging.
  • An emphasis on age-appropriate activities that support cognitive and physical milestones while ensuring learning remains joyful and meaningful.
  • A strong focus on relationships, with educators building caring, supportive connections with each child to foster confidence, independence, and a positive sense of self.
  • Partnerships with families through open communication and collaborative engagement to support each child’s unique learning journey.

At Dar Jana International Schools, our Early Years program lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning, encouraging children to wonder, express themselves, and grow into kind, confident, and capable learners who are well-prepared for the exciting educational journey ahead.
